Undated (1842-1846). A. Bechtler $5 Gold. Kagin-28. Rarity-5+. With 128 G., 22 Carats. Reeded Edge. AU-53 PCGS. CAC.
The deep golden surfaces support wisps of orange toning throughout. Evenly circulated but not noticeably marked to the unaided eye, though the time spent in circulation has lightly branded the surfaces with tiny marks that show up under low magnification; that didn’t prevent CAC from bestowing their seal of approval. All in all, a most respectable example of this popular variety.
