Tied for Finest Known Scarce $100 Kirtland Note. 1837 $100 Kirtland Safety Society Bank. Kirtland, OH. Nyholm 4 Rust 11. PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ. S/N 113 July 4. The Kirtland $100 is always in high demand as the highest denomination. Several other $100’s have been observed with this date and all are noted with the same signature combination of W. Parish and F.G. Williams. Still very collectable as the highest denomination Kirtland these July 4th notes were most likely signed and created by Warren Parish who also passed them as good funds to defraud the people he was dealing with. The Kirtland Bank was virtually defunct by the end of March a handful of notes have been recorded with dates of April, May, June and July. The latest date observed is July 20. Officially the final date for operation of the Kirtland bank was sometime in November of 1837 but long before that is ceased any type of operations.

Very scarce as about 30 known. For the collector who wants the Finest.
