T-7. 1861 $100 Confederate Currency. PCGS Currency New 61.

This was the first confederate note to not bear interest. The central vignette features Ceres, the Goddess of Agriculture, and her daughter Proserpine, the Goddess of the Earth. This C plate example is printed on a thinner banknote paper as previous printings, which were on a thicker bond paper and did not circulate well. Kept from a higher grade due to being cut in at upper right, but still a beautiful uncirculated example.
