Description: Peace on Honourable Terms. Thick white paper. Serial No. 6923. Signed by John Taylor and J. Hunt. Two-Sided. Printed by Hugh Walker, Wilmington. 101mm by 63mm. Death to Counterfeit. An impressive note to our eyes – and we have seen hundreds of notes while assembling our commentary for this catalog! The paper here offers an outstanding aesthetic appearance, and the black ink is striking in its depth. Face centered perfectly, back skewed to left but imprint complete. From a series of notes that include patriotic messages to all, in this case Peace on Honourable Terms, a sentiment that speaks dearly of the troubled times between the newly formed United States and the Crown in England. Exceptional eye appeal, lacking a few light verso ink marks thanks to expert curatorial action.
