State of New-York. April 18, 1786. Genuine One Pound Raised to Ten Pounds. Fr. NY-224AL. PCGS Very Fine-30 Details. Repairs. As illustrated.

Description: Frail coarse paper. Serial No. 1941. Signed by Evert Bancker and Wm. Heyer. Printed by S. Loudon. Uniface. 103mm by 62mm. Raised in value twice, first to Two Pounds, and then to Ten Pounds! A well-centered example with moderately deep black imprint on golden paper. The signatures are easily readable. No doubt unique, and a note that will highlight any cabinet of colonial note aberrations.

Pedigree: Ex Henry Chapman; T. James Clarke; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XV, October, 2006, Lot 8360. (Ford Price Realized: $1,092.50)
