Description: Laid paper, complete central watermark. Serial No. 2320. “Printer” uncertain. “Signed” by Jn. Huger and Jn. Postell Sr. Uniface. 167mm by 115mm. Five Year Tax Certificate Secured by Mortgage of Land. Boldly “X” cancelled in ink, “Counterfeit” hand-written across bottom. A very rare South Carolina fiscal document. Not a note that will win a beauty contest, but a note that would still be a focal point in an advance South Carolina notes or Fiscal Documents cabinet.
