South Carolina. March 6, 1776. Resolve of Congress Two Pounds. Fr. SC-122. PCGS Choice Very Fine-35 Details. Small Masked Stains. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 2575. Signed by N. Russell and John Webb. Printed by Peter Timothy. Uniface, black and red face. 77mm by 62mm. A splendid note to our eyes, printing skewed slight to upper right, otherwise beautiful in all categories. We simply have to let the Ford cataloger speak for this note: “This is quite a rarity and seen only in advanced collections. Typeset notes on all series of Colonial paper currency are less collected than their seal vignetted or better styled relatives. However, the grade of this note borders on the magnificent. Certainly, it is one of the finest March 6, 1776 typeset notes on the planet. Bold, Bright, and vivid.” The bidders came out in strength for this note when Ford XV was offered 17 years ago. We are pretty sure we know where this note is headed this time around.
