Header: Choice EF Silver Caesar Denarius
Title: Rome. Imperial. Julius Caesar. Circa 48-47 BC Silver Denarius. Choice EF NGC.
Description: Dies as illustrated. Strike: 4 of 5. Surface: 5 of 5. 3.94 grams. Deep silver-gray with attractive neon-blue iridescence among the devices. Evenly centered for the most part, especially on the obverse, and mark-free to the naked eye. The tab of the NGC holder partly obscures CAESAR on the reverse, with the rim there tight to the top of the C. An exemplary example of this intricate design type from the reign of Julius Caesar, murdered on the Ides of March, 44 BC, while this coin and its counterparts circulated freely in Roman commerce. Hail, Caesar!
