Obverse of BG-226A ground down, Liberty head and most stars repunched, 9 pearls on coronet, normal nose; same reverse die as BG-227A, shattered. By now Nouizillet was focusing his efforts more on flashy appearance than on unblemished dies. Has appearance of Uncirculated, but edge repaired where mount removed. PCGS Genuine, Edge Repaired-AU Detail William C. O’Connor (PCGS# 10412). Slightly rotated in holder.
