Rare and Finest PMG Graded Type "a" San Francisco Red Seal Fr. 1083a. 1914 $100 Federal Reserve Note. Red Seal. San Francisco. PMG Choice Very Fine 35. One of many finest PMG certified notes in this world-class collection with this piece being one of two they have graded at this near Extremely Fine level. Bold inks throughout combine with problem free paper for the grade, making the visual appeal strong. As this note has been off the market for several years we are not surprised to see a census grade of Uncirculated as even we cannot determine the location of the circulation looking through the holder. Just some light bends must be the culprit. It has been over five years since this catalog number has had a public offering where a PCGS Choice Very Fine 35 note brought $6,325 in 2012.
From the C.R. Chambliss Collection.
