Title: Rare Burma Kyee-Zee Gong
Description: The Karen hill tribe of Burma made giant, squat gongs of thick copper, with a small, open bottom and usually four stylized frogs on the top edge. They were called kyee-zee, and there were ten classes, depending on the sound they made. All were extremely valuable. A fine example and an impressive showpiece! See Quiggin, pp. 208-09 and Pl. 19, 3, and Opitz, pp. 197-98 (illustrated, p. 197).
