Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England. October 14, 1713 with Final Date 1736. Eighteen Pence or One Shilling and Six Pence. Fr. MA-57q. PCGS Very Fine-20 Details. Multiple Repairs, Severed and Reattached. As illustrated.

Description: Thin laid paper. Serial No. 7883. Signed by A. (Adam the Younger?) Winthrop, Elisha Cooke, J. Willard, and John Wainwright. 103mm by 130mm. Scrolled vine and leaves at back top. A pleasingly attractive note that has benefited from careful curation. The Stack’s cataloger noted “this rarity needs to get some professional restoration to restore paper integrity and allow its continued existence in the next collection it enhances.” The note has been restored from its previous state, all to the good in our eyes. Old “miryx” cost code penciled on back. Yet another rare note from the early Bay Colony era, and one you will not encounter frequently on a bourse floor or in a dealer’s stock. It could be years before you have an opportunity like this again, but savvy specialists know that already.
