Province of Pennsylvania. May 20, 1758. Ten Shillings. Fr. PA-94. PCGS Choice Very Fine-35 Details. Small Edge Repairs, Corners Rebuilt. As illustrated.

Description: Thick paper. Serial No. 30628. Plate B. Signed by Cha. Humphries, Wm. Fisher, and T. Gordon. Two-Sided. Printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. Printed Leaves back design. 87mm by 72mm. To Counterfeit Is Death. An extraordinary note, blessed with eye appeal and sound physical quality. The face inking is slightly darker than that of the back, and the signatures are bold enough to read easily. Evenly centered. The corners have been expertly touched-up from their state in the Ford sale, but not greatly and certainly not in an unsightly manner. “Choice” is the first thing that popped to mind when this writer first beheld the note, and PCGS evidently felt the same.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part VIII, January, 2005, Lot 1600. (Ford Price Realized: $287.50)
