Province of Pennsylvania. March 10, 1769. Two Shillings Indented Bill. Fr. PA-140. PCGS Choice Uncirculated-63 Details. As-made Paper Wrinkles. As illustrated.

Description: Thin coarse paper. Serial No. 13948. Plate D. Signed by J. Lewis, Cha. Thomson, and Sam. Rhoads, Jr. Uniface. Printed by Hall and Sellers. 75mm by 90mm. Treasurer of the Contributors to the Relief and Employment of the Poor in the City of Philadelphia. Pensilvania spelling in text. Yet another superior-quality note from the “Bettering House” note series. Formerly mounted to a red paper sheet, traces of which have been successfully curated into extinction. From a different plate, D, than the preceding Two Shillings from Plate C. Just as lovely and sound as that note, and just as likely to experience heavy bidding activity.

Pedigree: Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XVII, March, 2007, Lot 4236. (Ford Price Realized: $805)
