Description: Coarse paper. Serial No. 1975. Signed by Luke Morris, Stephen Collins, and James Penrose. Two-Sided. Printed by Hall and Sellers. Leaf back. To Counterfeit Is Death returns here. 88mm by 75mm. Treasurer of the Contributors to the Relief and Employment of the Poor in the City of Philadelphia. Pensylvania spelling in text. A solid grade and appearance for this Ten Shillings note. The attractive paper supports deeply inked images and boldly penned signatures. Typically found in a far lesser grade than the present piece, with splits and broken notes not uncommon. A solid and dependable note.
