Province of Pennsylvania. June 15, 1767. Six Pounds or One Hundred and Twenty Shillings Indented Bill. Fr. PA-129. PCGS Very Fine-30 Details. Small Edge Repairs. As illustrated.

Description: Coarse paper. Serial No. 1424. Plate D. Signed by D. Roberdeau, J. Mease, and Is. Jones. Two-Sided. Printed by David Hall and William Sellers. Printed Leaves back design. 124mm by 67mm. To Counterfeit Is Death. “Any note from this Act date is extremely rare, and this note is an excessive rarity,” wrote the Ford specialist, Bruce Hagen. Having specialized in early paper money for much of his lifetime, the writer knew whereof he wrote at the time. We don’t feel much has changed in the interim regarding the status of this rarity. It has undergone, for the better we stress, minor curation that improved but did not alter the note to any noticeable extent. The inking is still bold, and both sides are evenly centered. Referring once again to Mr. Hagen, he also wrote: “Minor faults mean very little when a note may be irreplaceable.” It is time to ignore the minor qualifier and get to the heart of the issue. This note is choice for the grade and offers a ton of visual satisfaction. A classic Pennsylvania rarity, and a note that only surfaces on equally rare occasions. Take advantage of the present rare occasion, for you do not when the next chance will arise.
