Pennsylvania. April 25, 1776. Nine Pence. Fr. PA-200. PCGS About Uncirculated-53 Details. Small Edge Repair, Mounting Remnant. As illustrated.

Description: Rigid stock. Serial No. 26711. Plate B. Signed by Wm. Kenly. Two-Sided. Printed by Hall and Sellers. Small format. Pensylvania spelling in text. A final escapee from a Ford group lot, well-deserving of its new freedom. This fine note offers a wide bottom margin both sides that adds to the eye appeal. The black inked design elements are a trifle faded, though the paper is fairly bright and crisp. The serial number and signature are boldly rendered in blood-red ink. Not long until the Revolution, and an historical note as such.

Pedigree: Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XVII, March, 2007, Part of Lot 4265. (Ford Price Realized: $1,092.50, the lot)
