Same obverse, now repolished and rusted, nose partially reengraved; similar reverse, small thin date 1856, FD omitted, stars flank GOLD. The last Period One Frontier & Deviercy octagonal dollar, now unsigned. The Lee Collection specimen, described by Walter Breen in 1983 as “brilliant Uncirculated, obverse Prooflike, reverse less so; small blister-like laminations left of value, as made; spotty reverse tone beginning [has not advanced]; tiny edge test mark.” PCGS MS64 William C. O’Connor (PCGS# 10489). PCGS POP 1 + 1.
