Return address label applied is from the "ST. LOUIS STAMP & COIN CO. /DEALERS IN OLD COINS,PAPER __/POST___/STAMPS__- /115 North Eleventh St., ST. LOUIS__” The blanks represent torn off label paper.
Prominently displayed on the left and central portion of the label is images of the BECHTLER $2 ½ Georgia 64 G/ 22 (even) Carats variety K-12. This must have been the official return label of the famous numismatist, B.G. Johnson who handled the incredible Virgil Brand “hoard” which was one of the greatest assemblages of rare coins ever. Johnson was also a major source of coins for numismatist, scholar, and philanthropist, Eric P. Newman.
Slit at the top with a couple of light folds and minor foxing but overall Extremely Fine to About New.
Possibly Unique and truly historical.
