New York. New York City. 1910 Brian Boru Dollar. HK-390, DeLorey-78. Silver. Edge: T.L. ELDER. Medal Turn. 38 mm. AU-55 NGC. Obv: facing Irish warrior with sword and shield - somewhat Norse-like in appearance - Celtic legend around translates as BRIAN BORU HIGH KING ERIN, dates MXIV and MCMX below bust. Rev: fanciful clover design with American eagle atop an Irish harp, castle to left, cross to right, Irish Wolfhound at base of harp, Celtic legend around translates as THE PEOPLE OF IRELAND IN AMERICA, Red Hand of the Arms of Ulster at bottom of design. Deep steel-gray throughout with rich slate highlights deep within the design elements, and with lively silver-gray on the high points. Totally unmarked to the unaided eye, and a glass does little to dispel that notion. Choice for the grade and sharp for the type.
