Description: Thick paper. Plate B; this denomination comes with plate positions A, B, C, and D. Serial No. 13752. Signed by J.A. Hude, Jos. Yard, and S. Smith. Standard size. Two-Sided. Black ink face. Printed by James Parker, Woodbridge. To Counterfeit Is Death. Crisp and sharp with near-perfect centering, almost certainly in the Condition Census. The ink is strong, as are the aesthetics and physical quality. Conservatively called “Choice About Uncirculated” by the Ford cataloger. Though not a rarity in and of itself, the piece offered here stands tall among the finest known of the type.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III, May, 2004, Lot 705. (Ford Price Realized: $1,725)
