Description: Coarse paper stock. Serial number unknown. Plate A. Signatures too light to determine. 95mm by 52mm. Two-Sided. Sage leaf nature print on back. Printed by James Parker, Woodbridge. A To Counterfeit Is Death note. These notes were printed to fund military actions against the French; the vast majority were redeemed, which accounts for the rarity factor today. Totally uncurated and left in the same state as it appeared in for the Ford sale. Rare no matter the grade, but advanced colonial note and New Jersey specialists know this as a matter of course. A great, early note that should perform far better than it did at the Ford offering.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford Collection, Part VIII, May, 2004, Lot 1463. (Ford Price Realized: $253)
