New-Jersey. April 12, 1757. Six Pounds. Fr. NJ-104. PCGS Choice Fine-15 Details. Repairs, Severed and Reattached. As illustrated.

Description: Thick paper. Serial No. 475. Signed by Hugh Hartshorne, J. Hollinshead (?), and S. Smith. 106mm by 58mm, slightly larger than standard size. Two-Sided. Red and black face, green sage leaf nature print on back. Printed by James Parker, Woodbridge. A rare note, one of just 500 printed, and one that presents an opportunity as rare as the note itself. This was the fifth issue of bills used to pay chiefly for military operations. An amply pleasing specimen with every turn. The colors are still fairly crisp, and the eye appeal is far beyond what you might expect at the given grade.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III, May, 2004, Lot 696. (Ford Price Realized: $546.25)
