No. 1462. Printed on thin laid paper by presumably Daniel Fowle. New Hampshire notes of any denomination and date in uncancelled form are scarce and those above a Very Fine grade, rare. For the five denominations issued for this August 1775 series only this denomination shows a value beyond the Fine grade in the Newman Fifth Edition. We are aware of a few lightly circulated notes that have sold with one of the most recent being a PMG Extremely Fine 45 note which brought $3,120 in a March 2018 sale. A few About Uncirculated notes have sold in years prior but we are anware of any truly Uncirculated material having been offered. This magnificent piece is a truly Uncirculated note, so much so that it borders on a Gem grade. A look at the PCGS Currency population report shows just these two at the 64 PPQ with no others in entire New grade range. PMG has yet to grade any examples in their entire Uncirculated range. Clear originality is observed through the holder and the penned details are sharp and appealing with signatures of both Nicolas Gilman and E. Thompson. We will be anticipating strong interest for this item as it combines both rarity and quality, a truly museum worthy item.
