Description: Two strings of American Indian Mound Builder shell beads, from the Great Temple Mound, Spiro, Okla., 900-1500 A.D.: (1) single strand tubular shell beads, 58" long, and (2) string with tag reading “Small discs, Tub [sic – tube] ‘Wampum,’ 900 Years Old, Spiro, Okla.” about 36" long, collector's mark “IVN”? on one bead; includes tubular shell beads, one modern glass bead, and two 4” bone hair pipes (latter items not from Great Temple Mound). Illustrated in Opitz, p. 369, bottom left.
