Description: Rigid thick stock. Serial No. 1099. Signed by Tho. Dawes. 76mm by 66mm. Two-sided. Famous Codfish and Columns face plate by Paul Revere, equally famous Pine Tree reverse plate by John Gill of Boston. An incredible note in every sense of the word. The paper is crisp and fresh, the inking is superbly deep, and the face centering is excellent; the back printing is slightly askew toward the bottom margin. “Superior to 99% of the examples known of this type,” noted the Ford writer, a bold statement about a bold note. You may look, but you probably will never encounter a finer Codfish note of this denomination, something to consider while you formulate your winning bidding strategy!
