Front: portrait of Columbus right, name below in beaded circle. The remainder of the match safe is an embossed ear of corn, complete with kernels, husks, and silk. Deep silver-gray throughout with only a trace of the underlying brass visible here and there. Rare and unusual, the first the writer has seen.
