Front: corded circle, bust right, COLUMBUS below, square beneath with Women’s Building. Back: scalloped label with WORLD’S FAIR at center between starred flourishes, CHICAGO arcs above, 1893 curves below. Somewhat less than half of the silver remains on the surfaces of this obviously well-loved and much-handled match safe. A scarce suffragette-related piece that is only infrequently offered today.
