Highly Rare Dallas 1914 $100 Federal Reserve Note Fr. 1082b. 1914 $100 Federal Reserve Note. Red Seal. Dallas. PMG Very Fine 30. The Dallas notes are some of the most rare of the $100 red seals and this "b" type is an unlisted serial number in the Track & Price census of seven known pieces. The "a" variety is even more challenging with just six reported examples making a combined population of only 14 notes. Outside of an Extremely Fine 45 note in the PMG population report, this piece is the next finest without equal. A few closed pinholes are observed under scrutiny and also mentioned by PMG in the comments section of the holder. The note is quite lovely for the assigned grade and we would find it hard to argue if it were graded five points finer. Strong red overprints remain and nice centering frames the impressive design well. The last publicly offered was a PMG Fine 12 note with an Edge Damage comment and it sold for $11,400 last year, this remarkably more appealing note will certainly draw more attention.
