Description: Printed by Benjamin Franklin. 69mm by 97mm. Uniface. Moderately thick paper. Serial No. 68827. Signed by John Holliday, Jabez Maud Fisher, and Tho. Noxon. The Newman Plate Note, and about as nice as any specimen currently known of this rare issue. The Ford cataloger raved about the overall quality of this note, and with good reason. It was a piece of outstanding quality then, and it stands as such now.

Pedigree: From a private purchase, October 22, 1961; later to have been part of the New Netherlands Affleck-Ball Collections, December, 1975, but misplaced before the catalog entry; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III, May, 2004, Lot 714. (Ford Price Realized: $3,220)
