Gold Nugget. Montana. This hefty nugget, about the size and shape of half a golf ball, is encrusted with a fine covering of smoky gray-white quartz. It comes with a story attested to and signed by Salt Lake City coin dealer Bob Campbell on his bill of sale dated January 9, 2013. Campbell wrote: “38 grams net weight Montana Gold Nugget. I bought this nugget from the original family of the man who found it in Montana in 1868. They said it was their great grandfather who found it in a stream bed during the gold rush and they always called it the families gold nugget.” This original sales receipt is a part of the lot offered here. A neat item that is almost certainly traceable to the wild west just after the Civil War.
