Georgia. June 8, 1777. Six Dollars. Continental Currency. Fr. GA-108b. PCGS Choice Extremely Fine-45 Details. Small Masked Stains, Seal Discolored. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 39. Signed by Wood, Wylly, Wade, and O’Bryen. 97mm by 75mm. Uniface. Printed “for the Support of the Continental Troops and other Expenses of Government.” The “in” in text in black ink; another style has it in red. An unusual note with what is normally a blue seal, but here somewhat oxidized to a rusty grey-orange; this could also be an anomalous color formula done purposefully. A beautiful note all told, with crisp paper, bold colors, and an overall appearance that begs a finer grade.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XV, October, 2006, Lot 8114.
