Georgia. June 8, 1777. Eight Dollars. Continental Currency. Fr. GA-110b. PCGS Extremely Fine-40 Details. Small Repairs. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 39. Signed by Wood, Langworthy, Wylly, Wade, and O’Bryen. 89mm by 75mm. Uniface. Typically seen with a blue 13 Links imprint, but here with a faded rust-orange seal. The Ford cataloger thought the printer may have mistakenly used the orange ink of the lower denominations on a run of this denomination. A close cousin to the Fugio notes of the February, 1776 Resolution, and always welcomed in collections for its design type. Choice to the eye, with an overall appeal that befits the grade. Excellent margins. Colorful inking remains.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part X, May, 2005, Lot 4591. (Ford Price Realized: $3,220)
