Double Signature Remainder. Signed by Saml. Clarke and Edward Fox. One-year note bearing 5.4% interest. Design Similar to the previous issue with eagle on branch at upper right corner and shield and cannon below center. Serial #9418. Dated January 1, 1815 to A.S. Bullock at Philadel[phia].
Overall a lovely note which is lightly aged but fully Extremely Fine with just two major horizontal creases and one light center fold visible from the back. Although the top border is cut close the others are well centered. The ink is bold with just a minor erosion on the 5 in date. Missing the lower right corner tip.
Extremely Rare with just three notes known along with ½ a note. The is the Finest Known specimen.
When auctioned at the Ford sale 15 years ago it brought $29,900 after spirited bidding. Friedberg and Kagin Plate note. Krause-Lemke P6
