Fr. 293. 1886 $10 Silver Certificate. PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.
All large-size Silver Certificates above the Five Dollar denomination are scarce and this 1886 $10 note is certainly no exception. Finding any quality material in these higher denominations is simply rare and this catalog number confirms that with PMG having graded only a single note in the entire Uncirculated grade range. Including the single Uncirculated note just five others have graded finer than this piece per PMG. Close inspection of this $10 “Tombstone,” type reveals that the assigned grade would seem conservative as circulation is not noticeable looking through the holder. Pleasing margins for the type and certainly an appearance that will not be replicated in the near future, bid accordingly.
