Fr. 263. 1886 $5 Silver Certificate. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
These notes are always among the most desirable Silver Certificate types and this 1886 series was the first introduction of the Five Dollar denomination. These Friedberg 263 types have long been one of the more popular for the series as a small trove of high grade examples was made available to collectors several decades ago. The notes have since been easily absorbed by collectors and when offered always command attention. Gem appeal seen here along with original paper throughout. A single pinhole, a trait commonly seen in this Uncirculated run, is the sole reason an “EPQ” designation was not applied by PMG.
