Thomas Hart Benton is depicted at left, famed senator from Missouri nicknamed “Old Bullion” and the first man to serve five terms in the Senate from 1821 – 1851. Benton was an aide to Andrew Jackson during the War of 1812 and would become a loyal supporter as they both entered politics, with Benton a staunch supporter of Westward Expansion. Expect this note to have plenty of bidding action as the back is still a blazing orange, and has not oxidized in any way, shape or form like many others do at this grade level.
