Description: 1855 round ¼ Dollar, BG-226, Die State II (heavy bulge joining coronet to 5th and 6th stars [die bulge broken out], shattered reverse), PCGS MS64. Same head, 10 stars, 7th midway between two loops of bun; same reverse die. One of the worst Nouizillet productions in terms of quality, with the final coins struck from badly damaged dies. Rare as a result of early die failure. No visible wear; devices highlighted in gold, reddish-violet toning in fields. PCGS MS64 William C. O’Connor (PCGS# 10411).
