EF 1652 Oak Tree Threepence. 1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony. Noe-28, W-310. Rarity-4. 17.6 grains. EF-45 NGC. Even steel-gray throughout with a strictly original hard and glossy appearance with some lively rose highlights in a bold light source. Readily recognizable with TH of the legend at the top of the obverse. Obverse somewhat off-center to the bottom, typical for the variety, reverse nicely and properly centered. Evenly circulated but even a loupe fails to reveal a mark worthy of mention. Faint bend to the planchet, not uncommon for these small, thin coins. Reverse die state with heavy cracks and cuds at A and rim. Absolutely choice for the variety and a coin that would suit any cabinet of Massachusetts Bay Colony silver coinage.
