Counterfeit Bechtler Gold $1. Kagin-CFT-2 (K-4). N Reversed. Lead. Plain Edge. 28 C. Carolina Dollar. 31 grains. Rarity-8, Unique. Choice Mint State.
The smoky matte-like steel gray surfaces offer rich luster that glows from within. A glass reveals no marks of any size. Perhaps a die trial impression for a spurious issue, and certainly important enough to warrant much tender loving care over the decades it has been in numismatic or other hands. Highly important within this growing field of research, and as attractive as it is rare. You won’t see another of these to our knowledge, and bidding competition will be steep for this rarity – but we know you are already doing your homework for this lot.

Obverse: BECHTLER RUTHERF: and a five-pointed star around, 28: G: evenly centered, nothing beneath.
Reverse: CAROLINA DOLLAR and a five-pointed star around, N reversed at center.

Die Alignment: 180 degrees or coin turn.

Ex: From the Allen Collection.
