Colony of the Massachusetts Bay. June 18, 1776. Five Pence. Fr. MA-192. PCGS Very Fine-25. No Details, though now missing Boyd’s penciled code “eyx” on the back. As illustrated.

Description: Coarse paper. Serial No. 5698. Signed by Hall. 79mm by 48mm. Uniface. A countdown of 16 days until the Declaration of Independence is presented to the American colonists in Philadelphia. Exceptional paper quality with near-perfect centering. Serial number and signature even bolder than the face printing. Called “Choice AU” in Ford, and no doubt a case could be made here for a designation beyond the PCGS opinion. Choice no matter the grade!
