Colony of the Massachusetts Bay. July 8, 1775. Nine Shillings. Fr. MA-150. PCGS Very Fine-25 Details. Repairs, Masked Stains. As illustrated.

Description: Printed on laid paper from plate engraved by Paul Revere. Serial No. 4608 (above a crossed-out 5903). Signed by Hall and Gardner. 174mm by 95mm. Uniface. A pleasing note at every turn. Altered only slightly from its original appearance in Ford, and much to the better to our eyes. Just 667 notes of the denomination were authorized, which no doubt accounts for the rarity of the issue-denomination combination. We suspect more than one bidder will chase this Nine-Pence rarity when the lot comes up for offers. It will certainly prove well worth your effort to obtain this sound and aesthetically appealing note.
