Colony of South Carolina. Hand-Written July 26, 1766. Fifty Pounds, Hand-Written. Fr. SC-67. PCGS Fine-12 Details. Multiple Repairs. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper with crowned GR watermark. Serial No. 77. Signed by Peter Porcher in red, Jerem. Savage in red, Miles Brewton, vertically, in red, and Jacob Motte, Pub. Treas. Printer uncertain. Two-Sided. 155mm by 115mm. “Being part of the Sum Provided for The Lieut. Governor (T.L.G. title hand-written) in the Estimate Annexed to the Tar Act Last past.” A truly grand note in size, quality, and eye appeal. The back was plated in Newman. Face ink still strong, both the fixed type and the hand-written notation. No obvious repairs thanks to careful curation. Back with floral imprint as well as hand-written mathematical notations. The rarity factor here is as grand as the actual note, something to bear in mind as you formulate your bidding strategy.
