Colony of Rhode Island. Warwick. December 2, 1740. Ten Shillings. Fr. RI-40PR. PCGS About Uncirculated-53 Details. Small Internal Repairs, Minor Edge Tear. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. No Serial number. Not Signed. Printed by John Coddington. Uniface. 88mm by 117mm. “Likely to be an early reprint from the original plates as reported in Newman. However, cataloged in Mr. Ford’s notes as a remainder and it may be a uniface impression from the period. A great note that rivals the RI-39PR of two lots earlier. One alert bidder could wind up taking them both home.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III, May, 2004, Lot 567. (Ford Price Realized: $402.50)
