Colony of Rhode Island. Providence. November 6, 1775. Thirty Shillings. Fr. RI-216. PCGS About Uncirculated-55 Details. Minor Stains. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 2943. Signed by Jos. Clarke, Jon. Wanton, and John Cole, all three in red. Printed by John Carter Two-Sided. 71mm by 106mm. As near to new as a collector is apt to find for this issue. It is essentially unimprovable to our eyes. Left untouched, minor face stain at lower left not curated, the note appearing precisely as it did in the Ford offering. Why anyone would tamper with near-perfection is beyond us, but in this case, no one tampered at all! Bright paper and bold inking make for a lively contrast, with the red signatures and serial number adding to the overall appeal. The Ford cataloger made a brief comment about the present note: “Virtually unbelievable quality!” A note that will not go a-beggin’ at bidding time.
