Colony of Rhode Island. Providence. May 3, 1775. Two Shillings. Fr. RI-178. PCGS Very Fine-20 Details. Repairs, Severed and Reattached. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 3798. Signed by John Cole. Printed by John Carter. Uniface. 75mm by 100mm. An altogether pleasing note with golden paper that affords a great backdrop to the fairly dark inking. Signature bold and crisp, as is the serial number. Evenly margined throughout. “A tough note in any grade, but this is likely to be fairly high on an eventual Condition Census for this type,” wrote the Ford specialist. This “tough” note should provide for a bout of equally “tough” bidding.
