Colony of Rhode Island. Providence. May 3, 1775. Three Shillings. Fr. RI-179. PCGS Very Good-10 Details. Severed and Reattached, Backed. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 1564. Signed by John Cole. Printed by John Carter. Uniface. 75mm by 100mm. Somewhat rounded corners, old creasing visible, and strip of tape horizontally across back, much the same as when it appeared in Ford XVII. The pencil notation on the back strip may be that of henry Chapman, according to the Ford cataloger. A note that faces up finer than the assigned grade suggests, and a piece that will not be neglected at bidding time.
