Colony of Rhode Island. Providence. March 18, 1750/51. Twelve Pennyweight & Twelve Grains (Two Pounds O.T., Old Tenor). Fr. RI-63a. PCGS Very Fine-20 Details. Multiple Restorations. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 4880. Signed by James Sheffield, B. Haszard, and Nicholas Easton. Printer uncertain. Two-Sided. 100mm by 140mm. A superb example of a rare and important note, expertly curated for aesthetic and historic purposes, and quite successfully to our eyes. The inking is still bold on both sides against the golden paper, and the signatures are likewise sharp. A note that fared well in Ford III, and one that should do equally well today.

Pedigree: From Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III, May, 2004, Lot 577. (Ford Price Realized: $7,762.50)
