Colony of Rhode Island. Providence. June 29, 1775. Ten Shillings. Fr. RI-204. PCGS Choice Fine-15 Details. Severed and Reattached, Backed. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 1302. Signed by Bowler, Clarke, in red, and Cole. Printed by John Carter. Two-Sided, but backed by 19th-century blue paper, obscuring the verso print. 70mm by 96mm. An altogether pleasing type note. Trimmed a trifle tightly and faded somewhat, but still presenting a satisfactory overall appearance. “Boyd pencil code on back, ‘myxy,’ indicating $10.00 was paid long ago. Considered a rarity then and more so now,” noted the Ford writer. A grand note for the grade.

Pedigree: Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XV, October, 2006, Lot 8653. (Ford Price Realized: $632.50)
