Colony of Rhode Island. Providence. January 15, 1776. Ten Shillings. Fr. RI-225. PCGS Choice Extremely Fine-45 Details. Minor Design Redrawn, Corners Rebuilt, Paper Thins. As illustrated.

Description: Laid paper. Serial No. 722. Signed by J. Wanton, John Dexter, in red, and John Cole. Printed by John Carter. Two-Sided. 75mm by 100mm. An exceptional note whether viewed at arm’s length or in close. Creamy paper and fairly bold black inking within the usual tight top and side margins, always slightly broader at the bottom margin. A note that would grade this fine, even if the PCGS qualifiers had not occurred. A superior note in all respects.

Pedigree: Ex F.C.C. Boyd Estate; Stack’s sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XVII, March, 2007, Lot 4324. (Ford Price Realized: $310.50)
